Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Vice President, Finance to oversee the financial management of a diversified portfolio comprising Theme Park, Retail, Skyway, Tour & Travel, Limousine, Express Bus Operations, Petrol Station, Cost Control, and a Centre of Excellence for Income Audit .
This role will lead a finance team of ~35 people, including 4 direct managerial reports. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving financial performance, strengthening operational efficiency, and supporting business growth through strategic financial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring delivery of accurate, complete, and timely financial statements and management reports.
- Implement and enforce robust financial and accounting policies, systems, and procedures.
- Partner with Heads of Department (HODs) to achieve departmental profit margin targets and drive cost management initiatives.
- Provide strategic financial advice and recommend changes to maximize returns, improve savings, and strengthen processes.
- Collaborate with operations on system enhancements (e.g., Point of Sales improvements) to improve customer experience and automate reporting.
- Oversee effective credit control functions to support revenue growth while balancing credit risk.
- Drive talent management initiatives, including employee retention, training programs, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Ensure compliance with direct and indirect taxes (e.g., Entertainment Duty, SST) and e-Invoicing requirements.
- Prepare and analyze tax schedules and related submissions.
- Review and assess feasibility studies, project investments, and CAPEX proposals.
- Stay abreast of technological advances that can enhance financial processes and support services.
Job Requirements
Minimum 14 years of relevant working experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Proven track record in leading teams of at least 8 staff (experience managing 30+ staff is an advantage).Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach and develop managers and their teams.Prior experience in audit, preferably within the leisure, theme park, and hospitality (hotel) industries.Strong technical knowledge of direct and indirect taxes, particularly Entertainment Duty and SST.Proficient in e-Invoicing compliance with hands-on tax schedule preparation experience.Solid expertise in cost management, credit control, and partnering with operations for financial improvements.Strong business acumen in reviewing project feasibility and ROI on CAPEX proposals.Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and implement process and system improvements.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build partnerships across operational units.Tech-savvy, with knowledge of financial technologies and digital tools that enhance efficiency.#J-18808-Ljbffr
