About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Purchasing Assistant or Supervisor to join our dynamic team at Union Harvest (M) Sdn Bhd in Port Klang, Selangor. As a full-time employee, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the procurement and inventory management of critical engineering spare parts to support our manufacturing operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the procurement process for engineering spare parts, including sourcing, negotiating, and placing orders with suppliers
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet production requirements
  • Collaborate with operation teams to identify and source appropriate spare parts for maintenance and repair activities
  • Monitor and analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement process improvements
  • Liaise with logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of spare parts and minimize production downtime
  • Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing policies and procedures
  • Provide regular reports and updates on purchasing activities and inventory status to management

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a purchasing or inventory control role, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, inventory management principles, and supply chain dynamics
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Proficient in data analysis and report generation using spreadsheet software
  • Ability to work under pressure, priorities tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or a related field is preferred
