Overview Associate III - Product Engineering at UST

Responsibilities

Understand product requirements and user stories from the customer discovery process.

Ensure requirements coverage of complex features with unit test cases.

Troubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms; provide technical guidance to the team to resolve challenging programming and design problems.

Create effort estimation and ETAs for deliverables and ensure adherence to timelines / SLAs where applicable.

Ensure code quality and coverage by active participation in code reviews and adherence to best practices and standards with periodic status updates.

Execute test cases and prepare release documentation aligned with requirements.

Influence and improve customer satisfaction.

Outcomes & Outputs

Understand functional / non-functional requirements gathered from stakeholders for enhancements.

Contribute to product design and development following SLAs and delivery timelines; create PoCs to assess new technologies / products.

Provide technical inputs for product research, design analysis, testing, process improvement, and complex troubleshooting for large projects.

Participate in code reviews and ensure 100% code quality and coverage where possible.

Support client in user acceptance testing if required and ensure code compliance with defined standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Certifications

Domain / Industry knowledge and the ability to capture business requirements and interact with SMEs at various stages of development.

Product design knowledge to translate business and non-functional requirements into technical solutions.

Understanding of product features / functionality and technical dependencies; ability to apply best practices and mentor others.

Experience in designing, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting CI / CD pipelines.

Proficiency in software design and development across the full SDLC; ability to take technical responsibility for all stages and ensure practices are followed.

UX knowledge to inform user interface design and improve usability; communicate user profiles and required trade-offs to the design team.

Knowledge Examples

Domain / Industry Knowledge : Understanding standard business processes in the relevant industry.

Product Design : Knowledge of architecture elements and configuration parameters; may specialize in areas.

Product Features / Functionality : Working knowledge of the product.

Config / Build / Deploy processes and tools.

IAAS - Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google) and their tool sets.

Application development lifecycle – agile and waterfall.

Quality Assurance and Quality Automation processes and tools.

User Experience knowledge : Basics that enhance usability.

Qualifications

Bachelor in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering or equivalent with 6–12 years of relevant experience.

Analytical and strong problem-solving skills; ability to drive issues to closure.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English (and Mandarin preferred to support Taiwan & PRC customers).
