Associate supporting Chemical Production , you will apply technical expertise to research, design, develop, and implement chemical reactions that transform raw materials into valuable products. You will support chemical plant equipment design, determine optimal operation arrangements, and contribute to project goals at Johor, Malaysia. In this role, a typical day will include :
- Apply technical knowledge to research, design, develop, and implement chemical reactions for converting raw materials into valuable forms
- Support the design of chemical plant equipment and processes for manufacturing products like gasoline, synthetic rubber, plastics, detergents, cement, paper, and pulp
- Determine the most effective arrangement of operations such as mixing, crushing, heat transfer, distillation, oxidation, hydrogenation, and polymerization
- Support project goals through effective task completion, following established procedures with some decision-making authority
- Adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training
- Commit to continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements, meeting individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization
- Establish training materials / evaluation documents and review / revise existing materials to improve competency and efficiency
- Provide training to the team, monitor and maintain departmental staff training to ensure daily tasks follow latest procedures
- Review documents, process observations, and material management (including FEFO and SAP transactions) to ensure audit readiness and compliance with standard requirements
- Ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are up to date
- Perform annual reviews for HIRARC, PPE Assessment, Aspect & Impact, and FMEA
- Review, maintain, and manage IMTE for all equipment
- Support control and monitoring of consumable item usage and raise purchase requisitions as needed
- Operationalize and ensure compliance with ISRM Record Management Policies and support ISRM activities
- Observe and ensure full compliance with Alcon Health Safety and Environment Standards
- Conduct aspect impacts and implement according to the ISO 14001 : 2015 environmental management plan
- Participate in and promote health, safety, and environment responsibilities as an HSE Committee member
- Perform trending analysis for ongoing formulations
- Establish engineering study protocols and report writing for investigations
- Conduct online troubleshooting and problem solving for Chemical Production issues and follow NCR and CAPA procedures
- Support smooth production operations by pigment qualification, cleaning verification, material coordination, testing protocols, and Roalox ceramic jar / beads management
