About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team at MITIME CONSTRUCTION MALAYSIA SDN BHD. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial aspects of our construction projects based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment and contribute to the successful delivery of our projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
  • Monitoring and controlling project costs throughout the construction process
  • Negotiating and managing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Conducting regular financial reporting and providing cost analysis to project managers
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing measures to optimise project budgets
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards
  • Providing technical support and guidance to the construction team

What we're looking for

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and cost estimation techniques
  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software and spreadsheet applications
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Familiarity with local construction regulations and standards
  • Fluent in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Melayu. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
