Senior Technician - Mechanical (Coal Handling)

Responsible for the execution of routine and non-routine mechanical maintenance works including the daily maintenance, minor & major breakdown, preventive job, system condition assessment and equipment repair work at the Power Station.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Implement, execute and coordinate maintenance work at the Power Station by ensuring that they are carried out as scheduled and the history as well as details of work carried out is recorded in SAP system.
  • Execute the daily unscheduled mechanical maintenance works including investigation of defects, analysis and rectification.
  • Execute the scheduled maintenances, condition monitoring, corrective maintenance and inspections.
  • Provide technical feedbacks (inclusive of initial troubleshooting within the capability) for effective maintenance planning and plant improvement to the Superiors.
  • Carry out the maintenance work according to the maintenance procedure and work instructions.
  • Periodic inspection and review of the maintenance tools including reporting of the defective tools.
  • Maintain good relations within the team and work closely with the other team members to maintain a good relation with the Client and other parties.
  • Comply with all applicable SHEQ legal requirements and our stakeholders’ specifications by establishing policies, programmes and practices in order to conduct operations in a healthy, safe and environmentally sound manner with safety first, quality foremost & pursuing excellence.
  • To perform other additional tasks that are relevant and necessary to accomplish the company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification & Competency (License)

  • Possess Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized higher learning institution.
  • Authorised Entrant & Standby Person for Confined Space (AESP).

    • Work Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in the maintenance field with material bulk handling, mechanical engineering, coal-fired power plant system and equipment.
  • Familiarity with the coal-fired power plant system and equipment will be an added advantage.

    • Skills and Behaviour Traits

  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Good communication and team work skills.
  • Good verbal and written in Bahasa Malaysia & English language.
