Manage department to maintain and improve safety, qualify, and environmental compliance for all plant operations
Manage the production of lime or minerals within projected budgets.
Ensures production schedules are maintained to satisfy shipping commitments and minimize inventory related outages.
Establishes and enforces departmental operational procedures to maximize efficiency, quality, and environmental compliance.
Maintain adequate supply of kiln fuel on-site to meet production demands.
Optimization of production capacity and asset utilization.
Managing and Leading Staff
Direct and monitor the production team members. This includes adjusting staff levels, revising performance standards, employee selection or hiring, utilizing progressive discipline, employee development, etc.
Safety
Ensure a safe workplace and regulatory compliance with federal, state, local, and Company policies.
Ensure proper training programs are implemented for new employees.
Promote employee participation for all production department compliance activities.
Drive team member environmental performance and ensure all permit or regulatory requirements are met.
Require to demonstrate clear commitment and visible leadership with regard to occupational health, safety and environmental.
Project Management
Coordinate with other department heads to assist in timely completion of maintenance and capital projects.
Create and manage effective project teams.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Bachelor's Degree certificate in relevant field.
At least 5 years lime or minerals experience in supervisory roles.
Preferably 5 years industrial lime experience in supervisory roles.
Heavy Industry - cement, minerals, chemical, power, steel, glass background is a plus.
Strong quality conscience. Working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise, and dust.
