Overview
Senior Manager, Credit Evaluation & Decisioning evaluates new credit applications, credit reviews and other proposals involving credit exposure to the Bank; identifies risks and makes recommendations to facilitate informed decision making by credit approving authority.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate new credit applications, credit reviews and other proposals involving credit exposure to the Bank; identify risks and make appropriate recommendations to facilitate conscious decision making by credit approving authority.
- Manage credit underwriting standards and quality.
- Manage standard turnaround time for credit propositions and reviews, ensuring compliance with credit policies and guidelines.
- Monitor the number of new accounts / customers recommended for approval classified as "Underperforming" or "Impaired" during the financial year.
- Oversee turnaround time for new / enhanced / ad-hoc credit propositions (including change of terms) without compromising credit standards.
- Attend client presentations and meetings to understand business operations and risks for risk evaluation and decision making (Know Your Customer).
- Maintain market awareness to identify trends affecting existing and future credit exposures; work with Business units to identify early warning signals and initiate remedial actions for deteriorating credits.
- Review and sign-off credit ratings submitted by business units; where appropriate, recommend upgrades or downgrades in credit rating.
- Exercise delegated credit approving powers within authorised limits / parameters when necessary.
- Contribute views on credit-related issues during client service team discussions, product readiness assessments and the formulation of internal risk policies.
- Complete Certified Credit Executive and Business Credit Professional (CCE / BCP) where not yet completed.
- Identify appropriate behavioural and technical courses to facilitate immediate and long-term professional development.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Economics / Business / Accounting & Finance or a related discipline from a recognised university; ORAICB Business Credit ProfessionalNot less than 10 years' working experience in credit evaluation and / or credit writing in a Large Corporate environment.Able to lead, coach and supervise team members effectively.#J-18808-Ljbffr
