About the role

Mega City Builder Sdn Bhd, a leading construction company, is seeking a Safety & Health Officer to join our team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a contract role, offering an opportunity to contribute to the health and safety of our construction projects. As the Safety & Health Officer, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the wellbeing of our employees and upholding our commitment to workplace safety.

What you'll be doing

  • Conducting regular site inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards
  • Developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Investigating and reporting on incidents, accidents, and near-misses
  • Collaborating with project managers and site supervisors to maintain a safe working environment
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
  • Providing guidance and support to employees on safety-related matters
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of safety activities

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Safety & Health Officer or a similar role in the construction industry
  • A recognized safety and health certification, such as OSHA, IOSH, or NEBOSH
  • Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations, including construction-specific requirements
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and mitigate safety risks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with employees at all levels
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in using safety management software and data analysis tools
