Technical Assistant - Engineering

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Technical Assistant (Engineering) to support the planning, inspection, monitoring, and maintenance of highway infrastructure and engineering assets. The successful candidate will assist in engineering inspections, project implementation, quality monitoring, regulatory compliance, and maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient highway operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic and special engineering inspections and prepare technical reports.
• Execute and supervise measurement, testing, and gauging activities for preventive maintenance and in-house projects.
• Assist engineers in the preparation and implementation of engineering proposals, technical documentation, and contract-related matters.
• Monitor and support third-party works within highway operational areas.
• Ensure project quality requirements and maintenance standards are achieved.
• Monitor NCRs/NODs issued through LLM systems and ensure timely rectification of defects.
• Perform monthly inspections and reporting under the Highway EPI System.
• Support compliance with Environmental Quality, Occupational Safety & Health, and QESH Management System requirements.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and engineering documentation.
• Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the superior from time to time.

Requirements

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 to 5 years of working experience in the highway, road, construction, or related engineering industry.
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Good report writing, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of highway maintenance, engineering inspections, and quality management practices will be an added advantage.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Highly committed, responsible, and willing to work beyond normal working hours when required.
