We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our growing remote‑first team. You’ll play a hands‑on technical and leadership role — guiding the development of backend systems that power CitySage’s Urban Intelligence platform.

This role is approximately 70% engineering / 30% delivery, involving both hands‑on coding and technical direction.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using TypeScript and Node.js
Build scalable, cloud‑native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Lead and mentor a small development team
Collaborate with product, AI, and data teams to define architecture and deliverables
Ensure high‑quality code through testing, reviews, and CI / CD pipelines
Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of systems
Contribute to product strategy and technical roadmap

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

3–7 years of experience in software engineering, with some leadership exposure

Strong background in backend development and Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP)

Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and GCP (or similar cloud platforms)

Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills

Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Bonus : Experience with AI technologies, geospatial systems, or urban planning data
