Freelance Finance, Accounts and Admin (Remote, Kuala Lumpur based)

Role Description

This is a freelance remote role for a Freelance Finance, Accounts and Admin position located in WP, Kuala Lumpur. The individual will be responsible for providing administrative support and managing accounts. Day‑to‑day tasks include maintaining financial records, preparing reports, processing invoices, and assisting with account management. The role also involves effective communication with clients and internal teams.

While the role is freelance and remote, the candidate is expected to be available during working hours for calls or meetings. There may be instances where travel may be required to the bank or government agency offices for any form submissions.

Finance Operation

  • Invoicing to client on a timely manner
  • Follow up with clients on collection matters
  • Accountable for collection efficiency by introducing new legal methods and calculating freelancers and contractors payroll
  • Prepare payment as per payment cycles and ensure no delay
  • Knowledge in cash flow management will be an added advantage
  • Assist business vertical on vendor registration to 3rd party client and be accountable for successful onboarding
  • Assist in implementation of internal control
  • Ensure all financial records are recorded timely and accurately
  • Full accounting, from data entry to closing of monthly account
  • Liaise with auditor / tax agent on annual audit and tax filing process, and report to Financial Controller
  • Must be able to understand the concept of revenue recognition as per accounting standards

HR Admin

  • Calculate payroll for internal staff and freelancers
  • Prepare HR related documents
  • Point of contact for staff for leave, claims and payroll
  • Admin

  • Assist in ad‑hoc tasks such as office matters
  • Liaise with licensors on license application / renewal process
  • Prepare and send documents
  • Compliance

  • Making sure our business is in compliance with all regulations
  • Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Finance and account management expertise
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
  • Experience in an administrative or accounts role is beneficial
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or professional accountancy qualification required (ACA, ACCA, ICAEW, CPA or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience in finance and accounting functions
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
