About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Audit cum Tax Assistant to join our dynamic team at LAI KWANG HOOI & CO' in Penang. This full-time position will provide you with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the accounting and auditing field, as well as gain exposure to tax-related responsibilities.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting in the planning, execution and reporting of audit engagements for a diverse range of clients
  • Performing detailed analysis of financial statements and supporting documentation
  • Preparing audit working papers and documentation to support audit findings
  • Providing support in the preparation of tax returns and related submissions
  • Conducting research and analysis to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Collaborating with the audit and tax teams to deliver high-quality services to our clients
  • Continuously developing your technical and interpersonal skills through training and mentorship
  • Analyze financial data and prepare audit documentation.

What we're looking for

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, fresh graduate is encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
