The CFM56 CTP SPPE (Strategic Powerplant Engineer) role will work closely with the Shop, Customer team, Customer Programs, Systems Engineering, Fleet Analytics, Life Cycle Engineering, and Services Operations teams. This role will be an integral part in the business priorities both internally and with strategic partnership with MRO shops. In this role you will develop and maintain strong working relationships between GE partners, Airline customers, Engineering, Services Operations Teams, and Customer and Product Support teams.

GE Aerospace Engine Services Malaysia (GEESM) in Subang plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and performance of aviation fleets every day. Established in 1997 as a Center of Excellence for CFM56 engines, GEESM has grown into a key hub of our global operations. It now services commercial aircraft engines, components, and accessories, employing more than 700 highly skilled local professionals and providing MRO services to more than 50 airlines worldwide.
Role Overview
- Develop and communicate technical programs and business metrics, including MRO workscope strategy and support for assigned contracts.
- Provide ESM / AMM assembly guidance and resolve tooling and technical queries from MRO shops and customers.
- Negotiate repair specifications and workscope options with CSA customers, leading or participating in pre-induction and gate reviews.
- Deliver technical support for shop technology development, deployment, and leading indicator programs; investigate shop issues, drive root‑cause closure, and maintain proactive customer engagement.
- Improve contractual profitability through cost control, workscope escalation trending, DR application, and mitigation project leadership.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Cost Review Board (MCRB) to influence SV cost and improve CSA productivity.
- Organize and lead technical forums and program reviews across GE and partner shops; serve as reviewer as needed.
- Communicate effectively with Customer Program Managers (CPMs), manage cross‑functional hand‑offs, and travel globally as required.
- Ensure proper documentation per engineering policies and foster a collaborative, team‑oriented culture with proactive communication.
Ideal Candidate
Strong background in powerplant engineering, including expertise in engine / propulsion systems, thermodynamics, and basic engine system operation, with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).Technical degree in aerospace, mechanical, or related engineering fields with at least 6 years of experience in powerplant & engine workscoping.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects.Required Qualifications
Advanced Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.Minimum of 6 years’ experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position.Previous MRO Shop or airline shop experience.Experience working within GE RSP relationships.Familiar with GE Aviation long‑term service agreements, customer / product support role functions.Experience in engine troubleshooting and root cause investigations.Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in Aviation engines / systems / aircraft / repair or turbo machinery.Ability to manage multiple project responsibilities and drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.Familiarity with aircraft flight operations.Strong oral and written communication skills plus excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.Additional Information
