About the role
As a Logistics Manager at Brilliant Supply Chain Service (M) Sdn. Bhd., you will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end logistics operations, with a strong focus on managing freight forwarding partners to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely service delivery. Your role will be key to maintaining our reputation as a reliable logistics service provider.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage strong relationships with international and regional freight forwarders, carriers, and transport partners.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor all logistics activities including international freight (air, sea, land), customs clearance, and last-mile delivery.
- Negotiate freight rates, service contracts, and SLAs with forwarders and logistics vendors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable capacity.
- Optimize transportation routes and modes using multi-modal solutions to reduce cost and improve delivery timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all customs regulations, import / export laws, and trade requirements.
- Track and evaluate forwarder performance against KPIs (on-time delivery, cost, service quality); take corrective actions when necessary.
- Act as a key contact point for clients, ensuring transparent communication and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Identify and onboard new logistics partners to expand and strengthen the company’s freight forwarding network.
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, operations, customer service) to align logistics execution with client needs.
- Resolve logistics issues and shipment exceptions quickly and effectively, ensuring minimal service disruption.
- Analyze logistics costs, workflows, and performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Use logistics and freight management systems to monitor shipments, track performance, and maintain data accuracy.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or freight forwarding, preferably within a logistics service provider or 3PL company.Proven experience in managing and negotiating with freight forwarders and carriers.Strong knowledge of international shipping (air, sea, land), incoterms, customs processes, and import / export regulations.Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.Proficient in logistics software, TMS (Transportation Management Systems), or freight visibility tools.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines.Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Mandarin speaking is an added advantage when working with China teams.What we offer
