Oversee the development, deployment, and continuous optimization of automated fintech systems, ensuring seamless integration with risk management protocols to handle operational volatility and user behavior patterns.

Continuously monitor the risk exposure of fintech algorithms and systems, including real-time transaction flows and client activities, to detect and mitigate potential vulnerabilities or misuse.

Algorithmic Risk Mitigation :

Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ensure that fintech algorithms operate within defined risk parameters. Optimize the system to prevent overexposure, security flaws, and improper data flows.

Operational Limits and Thresholds :

Define and enforce operational thresholds across key fintech systems, ensuring that usage or exposure remains within acceptable risk boundaries.

2. Wallet Management & Security

Oversee the management and security of digital client wallets, ensuring robust protection against unauthorized access, fraud, and theft. This includes hot wallets, cold wallets, and multi-signature wallet systems.

Security Protocols :

Implement and maintain cutting-edge encryption, authentication, and cybersecurity protocols to protect wallet integrity and transaction data. Stay updated with the latest security innovations.

Transaction Monitoring :

Monitor wallet and platform transactions to ensure full compliance with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and KYC (Know Your Customer) regulations, particularly for deposit, withdrawal, and fund transfer activities across the fintech ecosystem.

3. Strategic Planning & Development

Lead the development of a comprehensive risk management strategy tailored to fintech operations, including wallet management, digital platforms, and automated systems, aligned with business goals.

Conduct simulations to uncover potential weaknesses in system stability and wallet security under various operational conditions, such as system overloads or cyber threats.

Data-Driven Insights :

Leverage advanced analytics and risk modeling to identify emerging risks and develop actionable mitigation strategies. Use predictive data insights to anticipate challenges before they arise.

4. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

Compliance Oversight :

Ensure the fintech platform adheres to relevant financial, data protection, and cybersecurity regulations.

Audit & Reporting :

Produce detailed reports on platform performance, operational risk, and compliance posture for senior leadership and regulatory bodies. Respond promptly to audit findings.

AML / KYC Compliance :

Ensure all platform activities—including digital wallet transactions and automated processes—adhere strictly to AML / KYC frameworks. Monitor for suspicious behaviors or anomalies.

5. Crisis Management & Incident Response

Lead response efforts for any system failure, security breach, or irregular platform activity. Implement corrective actions quickly and design safeguards to avoid recurrence.

Crisis Planning :

Develop and maintain contingency and continuity plans to support business operations during outages, cyber-attacks, or systemic fintech disruptions.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaboration with Tech Teams :

Work closely with software engineers, security experts, and product teams to maintain high system availability, performance, and security.

Educate internal stakeholders—including compliance, operations, and product teams—on fintech risk practices, industry threats, and mitigation protocols.

Requirements

1. Educational Background

Degree in Finance, Risk Management, Computer Science, Economics, Business, or a related field.
Certifications in Risk Management (e.g., FRM, CFA), Blockchain, or Cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP) are advantageous.

2. Experience

At least 5 years of experience in risk management within the fintech industry, especially in areas such as digital platforms, algorithmic systems, and wallet infrastructure.

Hands-on experience with digital financial technologies, including blockchain systems, automated processes, and tokenized assets.

Demonstrated ability to design and manage risk protocols, digital security, and system integrity.

3. Technical Skills

Automation & Platform Tools : Experience managing fintech systems or platforms such as payment gateways, digital banking platforms, or investment tools.

Blockchain & Wallet Security : Familiarity with wallet architecture, including cold / hot wallets and multi-signature security layers.

Data Analytics : Proficiency in tools like Python, R, or SQL for risk modeling and data analysis.

Cybersecurity : Deep understanding of encryption, multi-factor authentication, and secure digital infrastructure.

Strong knowledge of operational risk, cybersecurity risk, and system integrity.

Experience in building real-time risk monitoring and implementing stress-testing protocols.

Skilled in developing adaptable risk models for fast-moving fintech environments.

5. Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge

Familiarity with fintech-related regulations, local financial services guidelines, and AML / KYC compliance.

6. Soft Skills

Leadership : Proven leadership in high-pressure, fast-paced fintech settings.

Communication : Strong ability to communicate risk insights and strategic recommendations across technical and non-technical audiences.

Problem Solving : Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex operational and security problems.

Detail-Oriented : High attention to detail in detecting systemic weaknesses or irregularities.
