Manager – Risk & Quality (Tax)

Responsibilities
- Review PwC Malaysia and Vietnam Tax Risk Processes, ensuring effective implementation of risk and quality programs.
- Support annual Risk and Quality plan, including risk assessment and execution of the plan.
- Implement and comply with relevant Network Risk Management Policies and supplement them with local policies and procedures.
- Ensure policies and processes enable Tax teams to provide quality services that meet stakeholder expectations and comply with professional standards, regulations and Network Standards.
- Implement a regular R&Q training curriculum and provide communications for Tax partners and staff.
- Support training sessions to strengthen a culture of compliance and risk awareness.
- Ensure business and engagement quality review programs are conducted to monitor the effectiveness of PwC Network quality management systems.
- Remediate identified deficiencies in risk processes in a timely manner.
- Act as a key advisor to Tax partners and staff on risk management practices, independence considerations and potential contract risks.
- Conduct periodic reviews of Tax engagements to assess compliance with risk, quality, independence and contractual terms, providing feedback and coaching.
- Support risk management meetings, prepare reports for local leadership and Global Tax R&Q.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Law, or related field.Professional Certification such as ICAEW / ACCA, CPA / CA Australia or others are preferable.Minimum 5 years of experience in professional services firms in client services or risk management, legal or compliance function.Proven experience in leadership and communication skills, managing various stakeholders and working directly with senior management.Demonstrated experience managing projects and driving strategic initiatives.Strong knowledge and deep understanding of risk management frameworks, regulatory standards and independence requirements within the Tax industry.Good understanding of Tax services and other services within a professional services firm.Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at PwC by 2x.
