Overview
The Boilerman Grade 2 is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, and maintenance of boilers and related utility systems to support surface treatment fabrication processes. The role ensures compliance with statutory regulations and safety standards while providing a continuous and reliable supply of steam, hot water, or thermal energy for production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor boilers, burners, and auxiliary equipment to ensure consistent steam supply for surface treatment lines.
- Perform routine checks on water levels, pressure, temperature, and fuel usage.
- Carry out daily inspection, testing, and recording of boiler performance parameters.
- Ensure proper treatment of boiler feed water (chemical dosing, blowdown operations) to prevent scaling and corrosion.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers, valves, pumps, and pipelines.
- Troubleshoot and respond promptly to boiler alarms, system failures, or abnormal operating conditions.
- Maintain logbooks, records, and reports as required by statutory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) regulations and company safety standards.
- Support production teams by ensuring uninterrupted steam supply for cleaning, coating, anodizing, plating, or other surface treatment processes.
- Assist in energy conservation initiatives and propose improvements for boiler efficiency.
- Participate in safety drills, audits, and continuous improvement programs.
Qualifications & Requirements
Possess a Boilerman Grade 2 Certificate of Competency (issued by DOSH or equivalent authority).Minimum 2–3 years of working experience in boiler operation, preferably in manufacturing or surface treatment industries.Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.Familiar with safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and emergency procedures.Physically fit, disciplined, and attentive to detail.Willing to work on shifts, weekends, or on-call duty as required.Strong understanding of boiler operations and water treatment.Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Good communication and teamwork abilities.Safety-conscious mindset with adherence to regulations.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.About Ferrotec Power Semiconductor Malaysia Sdn.
