Enggang Management Services Sdn Bhd (EMS) supports conservation at the Al-Sultan Abdullah Royal Tiger Reserve (ASARTR) by linking research, field operations, and sustainable funding to measurable biodiversity outcomes with government, NGO, university and community partners.

About the Role

Reduce livestock / crop losses from predator depredation and the risk of retaliation—so communities are safer and wildlife survives. You’ll lead rapid response, prevention and case management , and feed structured evidence back to DSS for hotspot mapping and patrol tasking .

What You’ll Be Doing

Rapid response & casework : Attend incidents, verify species / signs, collect geo-tagged evidence, open / track case files.

Prevention measures : Co-design practical fixes (night kraals / lighting, herding shifts, carcass hygiene, scare devices); monitor and iterate.

Community engagement : Run village clinics / toolbox talks; prepare BM materials (leaflets / checklists / WhatsApp SOPs); de-escalate calmly.

Data → decisions (DSS) : Log incidents / losses / interventions; submit weekly to DSS; contribute to monthly depredation / hotspot brief.

Patrol integration : Brief ranger sections on hotspots / access routes; join validations when needed.

Inter-agency liaison : Coordinate with PERHILITAN, local authorities and NGO partners; follow protected-area rules.

Documentation : Maintain audit-ready files (consent, photos, GPS, materials issued) and simple inventories of prevention kits.

What We’re Looking For (Requirements)

Diploma / Degree in Natural Resource / Conservation / Environmental Science, Wildlife Mgmt, or Social Science (or equivalent experience).

3+ years in HWC / community conservation / ranger operations or related fieldwork in Malaysia.

Hands‑on with deterrents & husbandry improvements (kraal upgrades, lighting, carcass management) and safe behaviour near large carnivores.

Solid incident documentation (GPS / photos / forms; basic Sheets / trackers).

Field‑ready & safety‑minded : remote travel, night visits, adverse weather; valid Class D licence; comfortable in 4×4 convoys.

High integrity and judgement; able to coordinate with PERHILITAN and follow Malaysian rules.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

SMART / QGIS familiarity; able to read hotspot / route maps

Experience in tiger / big-cat landscapes or HWC programmes (WWF / Panthera / NGO / government)

Basic DIY for prevention kits (lighting, fencing / kraal adjustments)

Clean 4×4 driving record; night operations experience (with safety protocols)

Why You Should Apply

Protect people & predators together : your casework and prevention kits reduce losses and retaliation—visible impact fast

Own the end‑to‑end loop : from incident intake to DSS hotspot mapping and patrol tasking

Grow rare skills : conflict mediation, practical deterrents, community facilitation, inter‑agency coordination

Mission team : work at a national flagship reserve alongside rangers, analysts, agencies and NGOs

Clear progression : pathway to HWC Specialist / Community Risk Lead with funded training

What We Offer

Competitive salary; medical benefits; annual leave & public holidays.

Field rotation support : accommodation, meals, and travel allowance per policy.

Location & Work Pattern

Base : Jerantut, Pahang (DSS office, ASARTR Operations)

Rotations : Mat Daling / Pasir Raja (remote terrain; multi‑day trips)

Some evenings / weekends for responses, installations, and debrief cycles.
