We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to support the organisation in managing and reviewing legal, contractual, and compliance matters. This is an independent contributor role, reporting directly to management. The role will be based in Malaysia but function remotely, with responsibility to support Singapore operations.
The Paralegal must have a strong understanding of Singapore law and jurisdiction to ensure proper governance of contracts and obligations. The role will also provide crossfunctional support in HR, Finance, and Compliance, contributing to the company’s governance and operational maturity as it grows.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management & Governance
- Review, draft, and maintain legal documents, including NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, partner agreements, and procurement / vendor contracts.
- Highlight contractual risks and propose alternative language or positions for management’s consideration.
- Maintain a central repository of contracts and track obligations, expiry, and renewal dates.
Business Support
Review finance and sales-related documents involving contractual obligations to ensure risk controls before commitments.Support HR with employment contracts, NDAs, termination agreements, and HR policies, ensuring compliance with Singapore (and where relevant Malaysia / Indonesia) laws.Assist in dispute preparation, including preparing document bundles, chronologies, and evidence summaries to reduce external counsel costs.Liaise with external counsel for escalated matters, ensuring internal preparation is completed before engagement.Governance & Compliance
Ensure templates and policies align with Singapore legal and regulatory requirements.Monitor regulatory updates (Singapore, and where applicable regional jurisdictions) that may affect business operations.Support compliance with data protection obligations (e.g., PDPA) and maintain confidentiality standards.Assist with corporate secretarial matters, filings, and statutory record-keeping as required.Additional Functions
Support vendor / partner governance and renewal management.Prepare risk registers or reports to give management visibility into recurring contractual risks.Provide internal training or briefings to raise staff awareness of contractual and compliance risks.Requirements
Diploma / Degree in Law, Legal Studies, or equivalent.3-5 years of experience in a paralegal, legal executive, or compliance role (experience in corporate / SME environment preferred).Strong understanding of Singapore law and jurisdiction is a must.Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required.Exposure to regional laws (e.g., Malaysia, Indonesia) is an advantage.Strong attention to detail and ability to identify legal risks.Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.Ability to work independently and communicate legal concepts clearly to non-legal colleagues.High standards of confidentiality and integrity.What We Offer
