Job Description
- Conduct domestic inquiries in accordance with Malaysia's Employment Act and other relevant regulations.
- Advise on employment matters including disciplinary actions, termination procedures, and legal compliance.
- Handle negotiations and communications related to industrial relations matters with relevant stakeholders including employees, trade unions, and governmental bodies.
- Provide legal guidance and support to the HR department on employment contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local laws.
- Research and stay updated on changes in Malaysia's employment laws and regulations to ensure the company's policies and practices remain current and compliant.
- Conduct training sessions for management and HR staff on employment law compliance and best practices.
Requirements
LLB or JD degree from a recognized institution, with admission to the Malaysian Bar.Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience practicing employment law in Malaysia, preferably with exposure to corporate environments.In-depth knowledge of Malaysia's Employment Act and other relevant labor laws and regulations.Proven experience in conducting domestic inquiries, handling termination procedures, and resolving industrial relations disputes.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical legal advice in a corporate context.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality in handling sensitive employment matters.
