MSR Green Energy, a leader in Malaysia’s renewable energy transition, is seeking a motivated and responsible Site Safety Trainee to support the safety and compliance functions of our Large-Scale Solar ("LSS") project site in Teluk Intan, Perak. This 18-month contract role is ideal for early-career professionals looking to build a solid foundation in site-based safety management within the renewable energy and construction sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the SSS in the implementation of site-specific safety plans and procedures
  • Participate in daily toolbox briefings and weekly safety meetings with site teams and contractors
  • Conduct routine site walkthroughs to monitor safety compliance and report observations to the supervisor
  • Support the preparation of safety documentation including inspection checklists, incident reports, and PPE records
  • Help ensure that all safety signage is visible, up to date, and strategically placed at high-risk zones
  • Assist in the tracking and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to workers and visitors
  • Report any unsafe acts, conditions, or near-misses to the SSS for immediate action
  • Observe and learn how to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and emergency response drills
  • Support engagement initiatives that promote safety awareness and behavioural compliance on site

About You

  • A Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Holds an OSH Coordinator Certificate but is not a registered Yellow Book holder
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety standards and regulations (e.g. OSHA, DOSH)
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in health, safety, and environment (HSE) within the renewable energy or construction industry
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially in a multicultural site environment
  • Willingness to be based full-time at the Teluk Intan project site and adapt to field conditions
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow into a future safety leadership role
