About the Role
Our client, a leading multinational manufacturer, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to oversee the design, development, and optimization of plant electrical systems and automation equipment. This role focuses on ensuring reliable operations, driving continuous improvement, and leading automation initiatives across production lines. The successful candidate will also play a key role in maintaining system compliance, supporting project implementation, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute electrical and automation projects related to machinery and plant equipment.
- Ensure all electrical systems and control panels meet operational, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for electrical and control system issues.
- Develop preventive maintenance strategies for plant electrical and automation systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, process, and production) to support plant efficiency and cost-saving initiatives.
- Design, program, and optimize PLC systems — with strong focus on Siemens Step 7 (S7) and related automation software.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and control logic.
- Support commissioning, testing, and validation of new equipment installations or modifications.
- Provide technical guidance to technicians and engineers to ensure proper system operation and maintenance.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance plant reliability and energy efficiency.
General Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechatronic, or Automation Engineering (or equivalent).Minimum 5 years of working experience in electrical or automation engineering within a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting, particularly Siemens Step 7 / TIA Portal ; knowledge of Allen-Bradley or Mitsubishi systems will be an advantage.Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, and safety compliance standards.Experience with SCADA systems, drives, and sensors is preferred.Familiarity with maintenance management systems (ERP / MES / CMMS).Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and project management capabilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively with both shop-floor and management teams.Proactive, hands-on, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced production setting.How to apply
