Setel serves customers across Malaysia by powering one app as the constant companion to ease motorists' journey across fueling, parking, EV charging, motor insurance, road tax, auto assistance, general purchases, and more across an ecosystem of PETRONAS petrol stations, retail partners, and online merchants.
Role Purpose :
The Senior Specialist, Advertising plays a key role in driving new revenue streams for Setel
by commercialising advertising opportunities on the platform. This includes monetising Setel's
user base, merchant network, and digital assets (e.g. in-app placements, sponsored listings,
campaigns) through strategic engagements with clients, vendors, agencies, and channel
partners.
The incumbent is responsible for developing Setel's advertising proposition, executing
commercial deals, and building sustainable relationships with advertisers and partners. This
role contributes directly to the company's non-fuel monetisation strategy and supports long-
term ecosystem growth across Setel's commercial verticals.
In this role you will :
- Initiate to acquire advertising clients and foster existing client relationships by crafting long term strategies with each client with Setel.
- Perform commercial & strategic negotiations to secure the best possible commercial model for the company to ensure most viable, profitable and competitive investments are made to safeguard company's interests towards achieving profitability targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish business solutions, potential partnership opportunities and resolve any arising issues related to contracts and commercial operations.
- Perform contract execution, review all contract performance and provide recommendation for renewal, extension, closer out.
- Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for tracking.
- Develop & maintain sustainable stakeholder relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to influence stakeholders trust and preference towards Setel.
- Plan and deliver sales pitches to potential customers convincing them to purchase ad spaces with explanation service features, estimate of cost and terms of service.
- Assist with any related tasks, projects, and other assigned duties as and when deemed necessary.
- Contribute towards the planned development of the business units future strategic road map
- Work with cross-functional teams to ideate and execute advertising campaigns for clients
You're a great fit if you have :
Degree in Mass Communication, Business, Economics and equivalent.6 - 8 years experience in digital advertising sales and / or marketing and managing relationships with key clients.Familiarity with digital campaign performance metrics (CPM, CTR, conversions, etc.)Strong background of working with advertisers, agencies, or merchants in a commercial-facing role.Technical / Functional Skills
Advertising & Media Sales – Understanding of digital ad formats, media sales lifecycle, and campaign execution.Commercial Acumen – Able to structure deals, negotiate terms, and assess profitability.Data Interpretation – Capable of analyzing ad performance metrics and turning insights into action.Stakeholder Engagement – Skilled in relationship-building with advertisers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.Leadership / Behavioral Skills
