Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

1. Environmental Program Implementation

• Develop implement and maintain site environmental programs(air water waste and energy management) aligned with corporate EHS policies and ISO 14001 standards.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental laws permits and regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for environmental performance and sustainability.

2. WWTP & STP Governance

• Oversee the operation and compliance of WWTP and STP systems.
• Monitor effluent quality ensure adherence to discharge limits and manage reporting to regulatory authorities.
• Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments for treatment facilities.
• Implement preventive and corrective actions for system reliability and compliance.

3. Waste Management

• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs including segregation storage transportation and disposal.
• Ensure compliance with waste handling regulations and maintain accurate documentation.
• Drive waste minimization and recycling initiatives to support sustainability targets.
• Drive sustainability projects and lead the Site Green Team to achieve site-level goals

4. Regional Support

• Coordinate with Location EHS Support to deploy selected/applicable Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs across APAC offices and labs.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations global standards and corporate requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments incident investigations audits and provide technical guidance.

5. Governance & Reporting

• Maintain environmental performance metrics and prepare monthly/quarterly reports for site and regional leadership.
• Support corporate sustainability reporting and environmental data management systems.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies and external auditors as required.

6. Training & Awareness

• Conduct EHS trainings for site and regional employees.
• Promote EHS awareness and best practices across all supported locations.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Environmental Engineering Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in EHS with a strong focus on environmental compliance and systems.
• Hands-on experience with WWTP STP operations and waste management.
• Knowledge of ISO local environmental regulations and sustainability frameworks.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and project management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple sites and functions.

Preferred Certifications:

• Certified EHS Professional or equivalent.
  • Safety and Health Officer(SHO)
  • Radiation Protection Officer(RPO)
• ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor certification.
• WWTS STP and Waste Management Certification (where applicable)
  • CePSWaM: Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management
  • CePIETSO-PCP/BP: Certified Environmental Professional in Industrial Effluent Treatment Systems (Physical Chemical/Biological Processes)
  • CePSTPO: Certified Environmental Professional in Sewage Treatment Plant Operation.
