Job Title

Senior Associate, Business Support Application

Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad is seeking a Senior Associate, Business Support Application to oversee and manage the implementation, maintenance, and support of business support applications. The role ensures smooth operation of financial processes and systems, enhances customer experience, optimizes internal processes, and promotes continuous learning and growth within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Study functional requests raised by users and rationalize their financial impact by conducting technical and business analysis for the implementation of solutions for Group BPMB.
  • Ensure outsourced application systems deliver in a timely manner according to contract specifications and manage costs to avoid overruns.
  • Provide support to Finance / Treasury users within the defined service level agreement (SLA) and in accordance with IT procedures.
  • Advise the business on functional and technical matters related to core applications.
  • Liaise with vendors on matters related to core applications where vendor involvement is necessary.
  • Provide training to Finance / Treasury users as required.
  • Adhere to IT PMO and SDLC guidelines.
  • Log defects at various stages in IT PMO and SDLC for project and support-related work; analyze defect logs and apply problem management practices to identify root causes and prevent recurrence in alignment with ITIL v4.
  • Participate in planning, development, enhancement, and support for existing and new Treasury / Finance-related applications.
  • Conduct Unit Testing and System Integration Testing (SIT) to ensure an error-free system and provide support during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Assess and process application-related change requests (CRs) promptly, ensuring completeness before escalation to the formal approval authority.
  • Oversee application patching for Monthly Windows / system updates.
  • Escalate identified risks to the immediate supervisor per problem management protocols to ensure timely resolution and mitigation.
  • Serve as first-level support for the IT Recovery Team (ITRT) in Finance / Treasury systems during annual BCP / DRP simulations, live disaster recovery activities, and RENTAS BCP / DRP exercises, including Industry-Wide Testing as scheduled by BNM.
  • Ensure seamless end-to-end integration to external systems via SFTP.
  • Attend trainings identified and assigned by the bank and share knowledge gained with others through on-the-job or formal training when applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, finance, or a related discipline. A master's degree may be preferred but not always required.
  • Relevant certifications in project management, system implementation, or financial systems (e.g., ITIL v4 or related certifications) may be advantageous.
  • 2-3 years of experience in managing business support applications, preferably in the finance or treasury domain. Experience with on-cloud systems is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and supporting business applications such as RENTAS, General Ledger systems, and Treasury systems.
  • Proven experience in system integration, upgrade projects, and vendor management.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
  • Exposure to process optimization and automation initiatives within treasury and financial operations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards applicable to financial systems.
