Role Description

This full‑time role is for a Senior Logistics & Transportation Executive at FlexLink, an on‑site position located in Shah Alam. The role is responsible for leading and optimising end‑to‑end transportation and logistics operations across regional and global supply chains. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely, cost‑effective, shorter‑route, and compliant movement of goods while collaborating cross‑functionally with internal & external teams, external suppliers, 3rd‑party logistic partners, end customers and global partners. The incumbent will drive process improvements, support scalability, and enhance service levels across logistic functions.

Main Responsibilities

Logistic Operations & Transportation :

  • Manage daily transport operations for inbound and outbound shipments (road, sea, railway, air).
  • Oversee third‑party logistics (3PL) and freight forwarder performance.

Regional and Global Collaboration :

  • Coordinate with regional supply chain teams, global HQ, and overseas warehouses.
  • Lead initiatives to standardise and harmonise logistics processes across regions.
  • Support cross‑border projects, including network redesigns and global logistics bids.
  • Process Optimisation & Cost Management :

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Implement routing optimisation, carrier consolidation, and load planning tools.
  • Monitor transportation spend and identify variances against budget.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., customs, incoterms, hazardous goods).
  • KPI & Performance Tracking :

  • Monitor and report on key production metrics; analyze data to support decisions and improve overall transport and logistics performance.
  • Indicators such as OTD, transportation cost per unit, freight claim, logistic cycle time, 3PL and carrier performance scorecard, customs clearance accuracy, process improvement projects delivered, etc.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting :

  • Serve as a key contact for internal stakeholders (procurement, planning, customer service) and external partners (carriers, brokers).
  • Provide regular reporting and insights on KPIs, operational performance, and improvement initiatives.
  • Compliance and customs management

  • Ensure full compliance with RMCD requirements under LMW conditions.
  • Prepare, verify and submit LMW report (K1‑K9, etc) accurately on time.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records for raw materials, finished goods, and consumables per customs audit requirements.
  • Coordinate and liaise with Customs officers for inspections, approval, and license renewals.
  • Manage bonded goods movements, LMW system entries, and ensure proper reconciliation of stock balance.
  • Support and lead customs audits and internal compliance checks.
  • Documentation and system management

  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date inventory and logistics records in ERP & LMW systems.
  • Verify stock balance reports between bonded and non‑bonded warehouses.
  • Ensure proper control of LMW documents, movement approvals.
  • Prepare and present monthly logistics and compliance performance reports.
  • Planning & coordination

  • Support production planning by ensuring material availability aligns with production schedules and shipment timelines.
  • Work with purchasing and warehouse teams for accurate inventory forecasting, stock level monitoring, and capacity planning.
  • Analyze logistic data to improve efficiency, reduce delay, and manage costs.
  • Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of international logistics, incoterms, customs clearance.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and cross‑cultural collaboration experience.
  • Project management and process improvement expertise (Lean, Six Sigma is a plus).
  • Willingness to travel regionally / internationally (~10–20% as required).
  • Comfortable working in a complex, matrixed, fast‑paced, and global environment.
  • Able to work interdependently, motivated and driven toward organisational targets.
  • Proficiency in English; additional language(s) relevant to the region is advantageous.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of progressive experience in transport and logistics roles.
  • Proven track record in regional or global logistics operations.
  • Strong understanding of KPIs and their link to operational and financial performance.
  • Experience working with ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, BluJay, Oracle, TMS or relevant).
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM / CSCP, PMP, IATA, or FIATA) are a plus.
