Role

Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of software engineers to audit application and environment defects and perform critical Fix on Fail and Fix Before Fail activities for the Payments Integration Team, focusing on customer entitlement workflow, real-time data services, personal data repository and payment platform services.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert capable of fault analysis on both software and infrastructure; perform software fixes and oversee infrastructure fixes.
  • Act as the L3 software development escalation point for L1 and L2 teams to ensure applications are fit for purpose; guide, coach and develop junior engineers.
  • Act as point of contact for technical resolutions while managing incident, problem and knowledge management processes for in-scope applications.
  • Audit solutions from escalations with 3rd party product vendors and / or integration partners where required.
  • Provide timely updates and reports to management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to methods, tools, people, architecture, project management and governance.

Qualifications / Ideal Candidate

  • Broad experience operating large-scale and complex solutions.
  • Mastery of Java Spring Boot; strong foundation in database optimization; good understanding of Linux. Ability to audit codes, queries and OS configurations.
  • Extensive experience in the software development lifecycle with a focus on shift-left quality initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills with stakeholders across business and technical teams.
  • Experience in a highly secured environment (e.g., financial services) with good understanding of security, audits, encryption, 2FA or MFA.
  • Mandatory : RHEL (or other equivalent Linux distributions)
  • Mandatory : Experience with database management systems (preferably Oracle)
  • Mandatory : Shell scripting
  • Desirable : Experience with JBoss application server and Apache web server
  • Desirable : Experience in file conversion (e.g., text to XML and vice versa)
  • Desirable : Agile and DevOps practices
  • Desirable : Domain knowledge in corporate banking applications and payments platform (e.g., CEW & PDR, FIS Open Payment Framework)
