Opportunity
Senior Service Operations Specialist with deep specialization in MongoDB. Join a foundational team for a major new project and play a critical role in building and shaping the operational success of a brand‑new system.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily operational and administrative tasks for the production MongoDB environment.
- Manage the full lifecycle of the database, including system upgrades, patching, and vulnerability management.
- Proactively monitor database performance, conduct in‑depth troubleshooting of complex issues (e.g., slow queries, performance bottlenecks), and implement optimizations.
- Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery procedures.
- Collaborate closely with application and project teams on deployments, system integrations, and upgrades.
- Serve as a key technical resource for database‑related escalations and provide expert support to ensure adherence to customer SLAs.
- Work within a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environment, performing necessary system administration tasks.
Qualifications
MongoDB Experience : Demonstrable, hands‑on experience in managing and operating MongoDB in a production environment.Deep Operational Knowledge : Proven ability in troubleshooting complex performance issues, managing upgrades, performing patching, and handling backup / recovery.Linux System Administration : Solid experience with RHEL 7 / 8 operating systems.Customer‑Facing Experience : A minimum of 3‑5 years in a system, application, or database support role, with experience managing external customer expectations and delivering to service level agreements (SLAs).Nice‑to‑Have Skills
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Kubernetes.Experience with monitoring and logging tools, particularly the Elastic Stack (Kibana).Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MongoDB Certified DBA, RHCSA / RHCE, ITIL v4 Foundation).Scripting skills for automation (e.g., Ansible, Python, Shell).Experience in the airline or travel technology industry.Benefits
