Cost Manager

About The Role

Currie & Brown is currently looking for a cost manager for a secondment assignment with our client, who is a multinational company operating within the data center sector in Cyberjaya.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the management of the data center construction project from the estimating stage through procurement, contract sum agreement, project cost management and closeout.

Responsibilities for the successful candidates will include :

• Examination of GC trade packages procurement strategy.
• Assist with the negotiation of utilities contributions.
• Providing commercial input to design optioneering, and input into value engineering exercises.
• Conduct Value Management workshops with the team
• Reviewing subcontractor pricing and leading negotiations to drive fair contract prices.
• Analyzing budgets established in the GMP and reporting to client the risk in subcontractor buyout
• Lead the commercial Onboarding of resources in terms of familiarization with client process and procedures, reporting requirements etc.
• To manage the procurement of SubContract Trade packages including reviewing the RFP documentation.
• The evaluation of GC analysis of returns, attendance at post RFP meetings, recommendation approval and reviewing of ARL for approval as per attached DCP process
• Provision of a project financial report and attendance at the monthly cost review to present reports to client's management team.
• To attend and lead regular meetings with client Project Controls to keep all project in Sync with the Compass report and regularly updating of Compass to ensure that the project EAC is kept up to date.
• Monthly cash flow reports to be submitted to client Cost Engineers
• Attendance at and support to all regular Design Team meetings, Change Request Review meetings, Budget review meetings as scheduled by the Project Manager.
• Manage the change control process and attend all weekly change meetings, provide contractual, construction cost and budget advice on all proposed changes, keep record of all changes up to date on a weekly basis
• Support to client on any contractual matters arising from contractor or sub-contractor contract performance.
• To assist the Project Manager in implementation of the applicable Issues Resolution Processes and to Provide role of interim reviewer on all project contract documents and approve on appropriate MS platform (i.e. Docusign.)
