JOB PURPOSE
This role is responsible to add values to strategic and operational decisions by assessing and identifying risks that could impact the financial and operational success of the Group. Primarily focus on evaluating the risk-return implications, threats and opportunities and potential trade-offs, specifically with regards to the Group operational management and Shariah governance. Support the Risk Management Department in ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, managed / mitigated, monitored and reported timely.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement, and monitor a strategic, comprehensive Group / Entity operational and Shariah risk management program.Provide strategic insights on risk matters as well as the Group / Entity risk profile to GMRCC, RMCB and Board.Develop and continuous enhance the Group / Entity Risk Management related Framework to ensure align with the latest regulatory requirement and business direction.Proactively engage with the management and / or business units to facilitate risk review / assessment and provide advisory and recommendation for process improvement / mitigation options on risks associated with new products, partnership and business arrangements, retakaful / retrocession arrangements, projects, initiatives, and regulatory changes.Work directly with the business units to facilitate risk assessment and risk management processes.Perform risk analysis and identify leading risk indicators to monitor the risks the Group / Entity is exposed or potential exposed toProvide inputs on stress testing and capital modeling exercise, in collaboration with other risk unitsSupport the definition and calibration of key risk metrics with business units to manage portfolios across asset classes and business linesDevelop and prepare all risk management reports on operational and Shariah risk such as Risk Management report, stress testing report and ICAAP report.Participate in the review and enhancement of controls against emerging risks.Monitor the execution of the approved mitigation / improvement plan arising from operational and Shariah risk assessment and ensure that action plans are effectively executed and validated.Drive and conduct Group / Entity Priority Risk Workshop and eRM training.Support in strategizing, designing and providing guidance on all BCM activities in accordance with the BCM lifecycle and provide advisory on matters relating to BCMExecute the Group / Entity Risk Management annual planEnhance internal processes and continuously develop and enhance risk dashboards, templates, and reportsPartner with business units across the Group / Entity to raise awareness of risk management concerns.Provide guidance and training for team membersPrepare guidance and training within the companySupport and participate in the integration of ESG risk into risk managementSupport and participate in Group Risk Management as well as group wide initiatives, projects and programsSupport the supervisor in driving Group / Entity risk management strategies and operationsQUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in insurance, Risk Management, Islamic Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplineProfessional
Enterprise Risk Management certification; and / or Operational Risk Management certification; and / or Shariah Risk Management certificationBusiness Continuity Management certificationBusiness process improvement certificationProject management related certificationExperience
=6 years of working experience in (re) insurance and (re) takaful in L&H or P&C
