Junior Data Analytics Engineer

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using Talend to extract, transform, and load data across various on‑premise PostgreSQL databases, data lakes, and data warehouses.

Perform end‑to‑end data engineering tasks, including data ingestion, transformation, integration, and optimization for analytics and reporting.

Manage and optimize on‑premise PostgreSQL environments, ensuring data consistency, reliability, and performance.

Perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and validation to ensure high data accuracy and quality.

Collaborate with business teams to understand analytical requirements and translate them into technical data models and dashboards.

Perform data analysis and exploration to uncover trends, patterns, and insights supporting strategic business decisions.

Develop and maintain data visualization dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent tools.

Automate data workflows and recurring reporting tasks using Python scripting and SQL.

Implement and document data governance, metadata tracking, and data quality monitoring practices.

Participate in future integration or migration projects to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) — including designing, building, and deploying data pipelines and models in the cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including on‑premise setup, optimization, and advanced SQL scripting.
• Hands‑on expertise in developing ETL pipelines using Talend or similar tools, with proficiency in Python for automation, data cleaning, and analysis.
• Skilled in SQL for querying, data transformation, and report generation, with experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Looker.
• Solid understanding of data lake, data warehouse, and data modeling concepts.
• Familiar with Google Cloud Platform services, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataflow, and additional knowledge of other cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure.
• Analytical and creative mindset; strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Proactive learner, adaptable to evolving tools and technologies in the data landscape.

Desired Experience

Preference will be given to graduates who are currently unemployed and have a strong knowledge of Artificial Intelligence.

Location

Applicants must be willing to work in Cyberjaya.
