JOB PURPOSE
The Research Manager plays a critical role in advancing the strategic objectives of the Education and Outreach Division by leading and delivering impactful research that supports financial education, financial advisory, and debt management programmes. The role is instrumental in fostering financial awareness and literacy across diverse consumer segments by generating data-driven insights, facilitating evidence-based decision-making, and supporting the development of effective outreach strategies. The Research Manager also ensures that research projects are completed efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with all internal processes—while strengthening the credibility and visibility of the Financial Education and Well-Being Research Centre.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research Design & Execution
Lead the design and implementation of research studies focusing on financial awareness, literacy, behaviour, and well-being.
Promoting Financial Awareness
Identify emerging financial awareness issues and trends affecting various consumer segments.
Operational Efficiency and Programme Improvement
Use research findings to enhance the effectiveness and impact of Financial Education, Financial Advisory, and Debt Management programmes.
Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with stakeholders—including government agencies, NGOs, academia, and industry players—to identify research topics relevant to improving financial awareness and literacy.
Knowledge Dissemination and Visibility
Present research findings through public forums, seminars, workshops, and publications to raise awareness on financial issues and establish the Research Centre as a thought leader.
Project & Compliance Management
Oversee project documentation, including procurement processes, Letters of Appointment (LOA), internal memoranda, and Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
Budget and Administrative Oversight
Manage departmental budget allocations, expenditures, and administrative support functions to ensure cost-effective delivery of research projects.
Team Development and Supervision
Guide and mentor junior researchers and interns to build internal research capabilities.
Supporting Financial Literacy Initiatives
Actively participate in public education events and consumer outreach programmes organized by the organization or its strategic partners.
Monitoring Trends and Continuous Improvement
Keep abreast of local and international trends in financial behaviour, digital financial services, and consumer protection to maintain relevance and quality in research outputs.
