A Director of Events oversees the sales, planning, and execution of all meetings and special events held at the property, leading a team to maximize revenue and ensure client satisfaction. Key responsibilities include budget management, vendor coordination, event logistics, and quality control for the event spaces and services, ensuring a seamless experience from initial sales to post-event follow-up.

  • Develop and implement aggressive event sales strategies to achieve budgeted revenues.
  • Drive conversion of event inquiries through timely proposals, creative solutions, and contract negotiations.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and customer needs to maximize share and identify new opportunities.
  • Oversee the execution of all events, ensuring accuracy in BEOs, run sheets, and billing.
  • Chair weekly event order meetings and ensure coordination with all operational departments.
  • Maintain brand standards in service delivery, guest experience, and safety compliance.
  • Provide leadership presence at major events to ensure client satisfaction and operational success.
  • Manage post-event feedback and implement continuous improvement actions.
  • Prepare and manage the Events budget, forecast, and departmental plans.
  • Control costs and optimize profitability through menu engineering, vendor partnerships, and effective staffing.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and performance reporting, including monthly forecasts, production reports, and sales analysis.
  • Submit accurate monthly reports on revenue, conversion, and team performance.
  • Ensure contracts, billing, and payment terms comply with company policy and credit risk guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Candidate to possess a Degree / Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management or any relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior role in event management, catering, sales in a hotel environment.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional service to exceed client expectations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and professional presentations skills.
  • Positively contributes to client, department and overall team goals.
  • Results-oriented with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • The ability to lead and direct a team effectively.
  • The ability to quickly and effectively resolve issues that arise during the planning and execution of events.
  • Skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to ensure profitability.
