Head of Merchant Sales & Business Development
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Merchant Sales & Business Development to lead our sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and strengthen our market presence. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, an inspiring leader, and an expert in financial credit services sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a sales strategy that aligns with overall business objectives.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and address concerns.
- Collaborate with business partners and internal departments to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
- Drive revenue growth by setting performance targets for the sales team and implementing strategies to achieve them.
- Develop and manage the sales budget, forecast revenue and expenses, and ensure profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Develop, implement, and review sales processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a high-performing sales team.
- Provide coaching and feedback to the sales team to improve their performance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and sales management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.Strong understanding of sales techniques, strategies, and best practices, particularly in consumer financing products such as hire purchase, personal loans, etc.Proven ability to lead and motivate a sales team, including setting goals, managing performance, and driving results.Candidates with experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry will have an added advantage and are encouraged to apply.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and business insights to develop strategic sales tactics.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with business partners and internal stakeholders.Willingness to travel as required.Unlock job insights
