Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure & Hardware Support Engineer to join our retail MIS team.
The role will be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations across retail outlets, warehouses, and the head office. This includes managing and supporting IT infrastructure, hardware, networking, and point-of-sale (POS) systems to minimize downtime and maximize business productivity.
Responsibilities :
a)Infrastructure & Systems Support
- Provide hands-on support for IT hardware, including servers, desktops, laptops, printers, POS machines, handheld scanners, and networking equipment.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure (LAN / WAN, Wi-Fi, switches, firewalls, routers, VPN, etc.).
- Support and administer IT PC and IT equipment and endpoint security and productivity tools.
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and preventive maintenance to ensure high availability and new project(s) rollout deployment and support.
b) Retail-Specific Support
Provide technical support for POS systems, barcode scanners, receipt printers, and cash drawers across retail outlets.Troubleshoot hardware and network issues in-store to ensure minimal disruption to customer service.Support integration between POS, inventory management systems, and SAP ERP.c) Operations & Maintenance
Manage IT asset inventory, including procurement, deployment, tracking, and lifecycle management.Ensure data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans are in place and tested.Maintain IT documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and SOPs.d) User Support
Provide Level 1 & 2 technical support to retail staff and office users (onsite & remote).Train end-users on IT systems, security practices, and hardware usage.Escalate complex issues to vendors or higher-level support teams when necessary.Requirements & Qualifications :
Diploma / Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.2–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure and hardware support, preferably in the retail or FMCG sector.Strong knowledge of networking (TCP / IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, VLANs, firewalls).Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Google Workspace, MS Office 365, and endpoint security solutions.Experience in supporting POS systems and retail IT infrastructure is highly preferred.Familiar with backup solutions, disaster recovery, and IT security best practices.Knowledge of virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Azure / AWS) is a plus.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills under pressure.Excellent communication skills with non-technical users.Able to work independently and provide onsite support when requiredCustomer-focused with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.Willing to travel or relocate to Bukit Raja by October 2025. Currently will be based in Section 51, Petaling Jaya.
