Job Responsibilities
Actively promotes a genuine safety conscious approach to all activities undertaken in the execution job duties.
Carries out to completion all capital projects assigned by the Technical and Engineering Manager.
Carries out design of equipment or layouts in a logical engineering sense to the stage where complete working drawings may be prepared from this information.
Supervises the preparation of working drawings.
Organizes and directly supervises contractors accepted for allocated projects.
Upon completion of a project, coordinates the commissioning of installed equipment with the relevant Production personnel and ensures that all phases of commissioning and installation are completed to the satisfaction of the relevant Production Department head and the Technical and Engineering Manager before regarding the project as completed.
Upon the completion of a project, ensures that all information, brochures, manuals, etc. are formally handed over to the Maintenance group.
Carries out all projects at the minimum cost commensurate with the quality of installation required.
Responsible for ensuring that all necessary permits and approvals are obtained and that all work complies with the relevant Statutory Authority regulations, Malaysian Standards and Cryovac Engineering Standards.
Responsible for the organization, programming and coordinates of all allocated projects.
Provides mechanical engineering support to the Packaging Plant and 3B plant maintenance group when required.
Provides mechanical engineering support to the Packaging Plant and 3B plant utilities systems when required.
Develops and implements mechanical modifications to plant and equipment for increased reliability, maintainability and productivity.
Analyses trends in equipment breakdown when required to identify required action to improve reliability.
Monitors the mechanical utilities capacity requirements of the Kuantan Packaging Plant and 3B plant and advises accordingly.
Attends technical displays and expositions by other companies, industrial and Government bodies.
Qualifications & Personal Attributes
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 3 years Engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing plant environment with some plant maintenance experience.
Ability to visualize a problem as it affects the whole organization.
Must be energetic, enthusiastic and have the capacity to apply extra effort when the occasion demands.
Must be able to develop a good working relationship with people inside and outside the company. Must be able to evaluate by clear thinking the real problems which may be concealed by extraneous information.
