Manager, Group Reporting, Taxation & Corporate

Job Purpose

Oversee the Group’s Reporting, Budgeting, Tax, and Corporate Finance functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective financial management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is recorded accurately and variances are analysed and explained.
  • Oversee the tax matters of the Group and ensure compliance with local tax legislations and timely submission of tax documents to tax authority.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position while mitigating risks.
  • Involve in the Group budget preparation and forecasting process.
  • Conduct financial modeling, valuation, and scenario analysis to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Assist in the evaluation of potential mergers, acquisitions, and other investment opportunities, providing financial insights and recommendations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Group Reporting
  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for the group, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.

  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Analyze financial performance and variances, providing insightful reports and presentations to senior management.
  • Coordinate with subsidiaries (local and foreign) to ensure consistent financial reporting practices.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure that all financial records are maintained in accordance with Bursa’s requirements.
  • Oversee the regional accounting and reporting of the foreign subsidiaries.
  • Tax Management
  • Manage all aspects of corporate tax compliance, including preparation and filing of tax returns and documentation.

  • Stay updated on tax laws and regulations, ensuring the organization remains compliant and optimizes its tax position.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors to develop and implement effective tax strategies.
  • Prepare tax forecasts and projections to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Corporate Finance & Budgeting
  • Assist in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Support corporate finance initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and investment analysis.
  • Conduct financial modeling and valuation analyses to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess financial implications of business initiatives.
  • Others
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by superior(s) in an appropriate and timely manner.

  • Carry out all tasks in an agreed level of quality of delivery and in a timely manner.
  • Continuously benchmark and bring on board best financial & accounting practices and the implementation of financial improvement initiatives to achieve continuous improvements and process efficiency, not limited to finance function, by identifying issues and recommending solutions.
  • Participate in cost-saving and financial systems initiatives by implementing projects that are assigned by superior(s) to ensure objectives are achieved.
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance management team and increase consciousness of the interrelationship between departments.
  • Job Requirements

  • Senior-level experience in a financial operations role, ideally supporting a CFO or Group Financial Controller.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Proven track record in implementing continuous improvement initiatives in financial reporting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting / ERP systems is an advantage.
