To deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate English language instruction to Lower Primary students (typically Years 1–3), aligned with the Cambridge Primary English curriculum.
Responsibilities
The teacher will focus on building foundational literacy skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening while fostering a love of the English language in a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
Plan, prepare, and deliver age‑appropriate English lessons in alignment with the Cambridge Primary English curriculum.
Teach foundational language skills including phonics, grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing mechanics, storytelling, and spoken communication.
Use interactive and differentiated teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and language levels.
Create weekly and termly lesson plans that incorporate play‑based learning, guide reading, and creative writing.
Promote literacy through storytelling, drama, shared reading, and thematic projects.
Integrate cross‑curricular links to support holistic learning.
Conduct formative and summative assessments to track student learning.
Monitor progress in line with Cambridge learning objectives and literacy milestones.
Maintain accurate student records and prepare progress reports for parents and school leadership.
Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom that encourages student participation and exploration.
Develop and maintain routines that promote good behavior, responsibility, and respect for others. Use positive behavior management strategies to support emotional and social development.
