HSE Officer

Job Description

• Ensure company operations comply with OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, EQA 1974, and other applicable Malaysian laws and regulations.
• Liaise with DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, and other regulatory authorities for inspections, audits, and submissions.
• Acting as technical support and driver on compliance to the HS procedures in operation. Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and safe work instructions. Work with the related functions to establish control measures to reduce HSE risks.
• Conduct safety inductions and training for all employees and contractors. Coordinate Safety & Health Committee activities and ensure timely meetings. Work with related functions to implement improvement projects and assess its effectiveness. Plan and implement activities to promote HSE awareness internally.
• Conduct Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment & Risk Control (HIRARC), and Environmental Aspect & Impact Assessments (EIA). Investigate incidents, near-misses, and occupational injuries; propose corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Perform regular workplace safety inspections, audits, and walkabouts.
• Ensure machinery, equipment, PPE, and emergency systems are maintained and compliant.
• Monitor waste management, chemical handling, and environmental controls.
• Maintain HSE documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), permits, and inspection records and prepare HSE performance reports for management review. Assist in ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 management system implementation and audits.
• Develop emergency response plans (ERP) and conduct drills (fire, chemical spill, evacuation, etc.) and act as the site emergency coordinator in emergencies.
