Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Deputy Lab Director to lead our laboratory facilities. You will set the technical and technological direction, manage operations, and drive continuous improvement. Ideal candidates will align with StemLife Berhad’s vision and be inspired by the impact they can make on families' lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the technical and technological direction to support corporate and business objectives.
  • Manage designated lab facilities, ensuring adherence to internal, accreditation / certification standards, and local authority guidelines.
  • Evaluate the processing data to ensure product safety and efficacy.
  • Oversee lab operations, including resource management, budget planning, and implementation.
  • Drive new process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead new projects and technology evaluation / development as directed.
  • Provide scientific, technical, and / or operational insights for new product, service development, technologies and processes.
  • Develop and deliver training, continuing education programs, and speaking engagements.
  • Interface with doctors and clients as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

    • Must have

  • PhD in the following fields : Allergy & Immunology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Biomedical / Biotechnology, or any other relevant life sciences field.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in pathology in the appropriate area of the scope of cell therapy, haematology, microbiology and virology, 3 years of which shall have been at a supervisory level.

    • Good to have

  • Knowledge of AABB, FACT-NETCORD, MS ISO-15189 and other relevant accreditation and / or regulatory standards.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in cell manipulation.
  • Experience working in an accredited / licensed cellular therapy facility, related healthcare industry with at least 1-2 years of experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated leadership attributes.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
