Qualifications

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
2 years and above of relevant experience in a similar role is preferred. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Proficiency in mechanical systems, including HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), medical gas systems, fire protection systems, and other building services.
Knowledge of hospital-specific systems and regulatory standards is an advantage.
Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
Malaysian citizen.

Language Qualification

Credit (at least C) for Bahasa Melayu and English (including oral examination) in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognised by the government OR

IELTS Band 6 / Band 4 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET). Candidates without any of these qualifications will be required to sit for the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test.

In support of Maqasid Shariah, IIUM is a smoke free Campus.

Note

Shortlisted applicants who are currently employees of the Malaysian Government or Statutory Bodies in Malaysia will be required to submit the hard copy of applications through the respective Heads of Department together with the confidential report and up‑to‑date service record.

Responsibilities

Monitor and manage the maintenance of Mechanical systems.

Ensure compliance with hospital regulations and standards for Mechanical systems.

Coordinate and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.

Assist in planning, coordinating, and overseeing additional works and infrastructure projects within the hospital.

Work with contractors and vendors to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

Monitor project progress, provide updates, and address any issues that arise during project implementation.
