Chemin, TDCX’s AI-focused subsidiary, is launching a new gig work opportunity for individuals eager to earn while contributing to cutting-edge AI projects.

In this project, we are partnering with a major technology company to collect authentic localized Mandarin audio data from Malaysia’s banking sector. We’re inviting talented individuals to join us as Speakers in the Mandarin Data Collection Project.

This role is fully remote, task-based, and gives you the flexibility to increase your income at your own pace. Your contributions will shape advanced technology for financial solutions.

About the Role

As a Speaker, you will roleplay as a bank’s customer service representative in simulated phone conversations. You’ll receive topics (about bank products), scripts, and example prompts to guide your calls, such as account enquiries, transaction assistance, or service requests.

Your main task is to conduct and record realistic, natural conversations that reflect genuine customer service interactions in Mandarin language. Through this project, you will contribute to the development of future AI systems that can better understand localized Malaysian Mandarin, including common accents and everyday expressions.

If you have experience in customer support, call handling, or communication roles, and are willing to learn about banking-related conversations, this is a great opportunity to apply your skills and contribute to the future of localized AI.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct roleplay calls as a bank customer service representative in Mandarin authentic Malaysian Chinese call center
  • Follow conversation topics and sample scripts while maintaining a natural tone
  • Willing to learn basic knowledge about banking services and products, so your conversations sound realistic and reflect how an actual bank representative would speak (training materials will be provided)
  • Record clear, high-quality audio for around 10-15 minutes per audio and upload it to the assigned platform
  • Communicate effectively with Project Managers to clarify instructions or resolve issues

Requirements

Native or fluent Mandarin speaker

  • Based in Malaysia
  • Experience in customer service, call centres, or support roles is required
  • Background or interest in banking or financial
  • Confident speaking on the phone and performing roleplay conversations in Mandarin
  • Access to a quiet environment and reliable internet connection
  • Laptop or smartphone with good microphone quality for recording
  • Bonus points if you have :

  • Prior experience in banking customer service
  • Working Arrangements

  • This is a fully remote, gig-based project with flexibility when you work
  • To ensure project goals are met, we are looking for individuals who can commit to this project on a daily basis, including weekends where required.
  • The more calls you can complete, the faster you will learn, and the higher your earnings will be. Consistency is key to success!
  • There is no cap on earnings, paid on a per-valid audio basis.
  • The project timeline is from October 17th until end of October 2025
