AI Data Annotation Project Manage

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end data annotation workflow for text, image, audio, and video datasets to support LLM and multimodal model training.
  • Build, manage, and scale global annotation teams (in-house or BPO), ensuring delivery quality, efficiency, and cost control.
  • Design annotation standards, SOPs, QA frameworks, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with data engineering, model training, and evaluation teams to refine data requirements and improve data quality.
  • Implement and optimize annotation tools, pipelines, and automation solutions to increase throughput.
  • Evaluate and onboard external vendors, oversee delivery, and manage cross‑cultural communication.
  • Monitor project progress and continuously improve annotation strategies based on model feedback.

    • Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of AI data workflows, including annotation, QA, ontology design, and data governance.
  • Hands‑on experience with large‑scale annotation projects in text, image, audio, and video.
  • Familiarity with annotation tools and platforms (e.g., Label Studio, Prodigy, Scale AI tools, custom pipelines).
  • Experience managing distributed vendor teams or BPOs (Philippines, India, LATAM preferred).
  • Excellent communication and project management skills; able to coordinate across engineering, PM, and operations.
  • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to diagnose bottlenecks and optimize processes.
  • English working proficiency; multilingual ability is a plus.
  • Experience in LLM, multimodal model training, or AI data operations.
  • Prior experience leading offshore annotation teams or managing BPO vendors.
  • Knowledge of data engineering or scripting (Python, SQL) is a plus.
