- We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Presales Consultant with deep expertise in the Wealth Management and Investment domain to join our APAC team. In this pivotal role, you will be the technical and product cornerstone of the sales process. You will act as a trusted advisor to prospective clients, brilliantly articulating the value of the Backbase Wealth & Investment solution and demonstrating how it solves their most pressing business challenges.

How about you
As a Solutions Engineer in the Solutions Engineering team, it is your core responsibility to design the prospect’s end‑state solution based on Backbase software. It’s a combination of educating, designing and evangelizing. You will be empowered by a strong global team of specialists.Whether you talk to the board of directors, the marketing team or the IT department, you turn every red light green.You will join prospects in their exploration of Backbase products. As an all‑round product expert, you navigate through the full sales cycle, from doing technology deep dives and leading proof of concepts, to leading workshops and generating feedback. Your performance blows each prospect off its feet.Work in a flexible, informal, and fast‑paced environment that empowers you to grow as a sales professional.Report directly to the Regional Vice President of Solutions Engineering and closely collaborate with our Wealth Solutions Engineer global lead as well as our Wealth product team.You will closely collaborate with a dedicated Account Executive for Wealth Management and Private Banking and support local Account Executives with your domain knowledge and functional / technical expertise.Travel : Be prepared for regular travel across the APAC region to engage with clients and support sales activities (as travel conditions permit). Expect 30% of your time to visit prospects and existing clients.What You'll Bring : Required Skills & Experience
Experience : A minimum of 7+ years of experience in a presales, solutions consulting, or sales engineering role within the enterprise software (SaaS / PaaS) industry.Domain Expertise : Crucial deep knowledge of the wealth management and investment industry. You must be fluent in topics such as portfolio management, financial planning, robo‑advisory, digital brokerage, asset allocation, and the regulatory landscape (e.g., MAS, SFC, ASIC requirements).Technical Acumen : Strong understanding of modern enterprise IT architecture, including APIs, microservices, cloud‑native principles (AWS, Azure, GCP), and security best practices. You should be comfortable discussing technical concepts with architects and developers.Exceptional Communication : World‑class presentation and storytelling skills. You can simplify complex technical concepts and articulate a clear, compelling value proposition.Business Acumen : A proven ability to understand and align with business objectives, identify commercial opportunities, and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders.What Will Make You Stand Out : Preferred Qualifications
Fluency in Chinese, English.Direct experience working with the Backbase platform.Previous experience at a wealth management firm, a core banking provider, or a competing wealthtech vendor.CFA, CAIA, or other relevant financial industry certifications.Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Backbase by 2x
