Job Description : Test Manager

Location : 50250, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Employment Type : Contract (through third-party payroll)

Client Domain : A leading Central Banking and Financial Regulatory Institution in Malaysia

Role Purpose

The Test Manager will be responsible for leading the testing strategy, planning, and execution across multiple projects, ensuring high quality and timely delivery of testing outcomes. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and technical expertise in test automation and manual testing practices. The Test Manager will also mentor and guide the QA team while driving continuous improvement in testing processes.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Define and implement overall test strategy, test plans, and testing frameworks for multiple projects.
  • Lead and manage a team of testers (manual and automation) to deliver project outcomes on time.
  • Oversee automation initiatives and ensure the right tools, frameworks, and methodologies are in place.
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure testing requirements are fully met.
  • Monitor and report on test progress, risks, and quality metrics to senior management.
  • Manage defect lifecycle using tools like JIRA, ALM, Bugzilla.
  • Ensure infrastructure and environment readiness for testing activities.
  • Provide technical guidance on automation frameworks, CI / CD integration, and performance testing.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive QA best practices.
  • Mentor junior team members and build strong team capability.

Key Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of automation tools (Selenium, UFT, JMeter, API automation – Rest Assured, Postman).
  • Hands-on experience with frameworks (TestNG, Hybrid, Robot, BDD / Cucumber).
  • Knowledge of CI / CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Proficiency in programming / scripting languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, Shell scripting, VBScript).
  • Experience in test management tools (JIRA, Zephyr, ALM).
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL, RDBMS, NoSQL) and cloud-based testing platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

    • Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in QA / testing, including 3+ years in a Test Lead / Manager role.
  • Proven track record in leading testing teams across automation and manual testing.
  • Experience in the banking / financial domain is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.

    Contract length : 12 months

    Pay : RM6, RM13,000.00 per month
