Senior Software Tester (1 year contract)

Overview
The Senior Software Tester is a member of the Delivery Unit team in NETS Malaysia and will be reporting to the Team Manager. He / She will be working with the Test Lead / Test Manager to devise the test planning, test objectives, test strategies and test cases as well as perform quality testing of project delivery and enhancements prior to implementation or release to production system.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Test Manager or Team Lead to develop the test strategy, test objectives and test plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Identify potential testing bottlenecks and proactively plan backup strategies to address slippage.
- Review and analyze functional specifications and business requirements to define test scope and objectives.
- Guide and mentor the junior team member throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Prepare and update the traceability matrix to ensure completeness of test coverage.
- Prepare test cases based on the test plan and identify test coverage to ensure completeness of the test coverage.
- Perform test execution according to the requirements specifications and ensure that all test incidents are properly logged.
- Track and ensure proper closure of issues identified during testing.
- Ensure that test results are properly captured and documented and reviews are conducted for all test documents.
- Coordinate and provide support to internal and external parties during the various testing stages.
- Manage incidents reported by users; Analyze user reported incidents and provide appropriate response or follow-up actions with the technical teams.
- Provide regular updates to reporting manager and stakeholders on status of testing activities, assignments and matters arising.
- Document, implement, monitor, and enforce all processes for testing as per standards defined by the organization.
- Take full ownership of testing deliverables and ensure high-quality standards are met before client delivery.
- Assist in preparation of User Manuals and project documentation.
Requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent education and / or experience.Minimum 4 years of related working experience, preferably in IT and financial industry.Functional testing experience in Financial Institution will be considered an added advantageSkills and Knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Testing and Defect Management toolsProficient in construction of test plan, test cases, test execution and test reportingBasic database understanding and query skillsPossess strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to generate standard testing deliverablesDemonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to make quick and sound decisionsGood team playerKnowledge of automation tools and frameworks will be considered an added advantageDetails
