JOB DESCRIPTION
Conduct analysis / recommendation / monitoring of new and existing credits, and to support Group Treasury's investment activities according to desk mandates and the Bank's risk management policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct thorough assessment on bond / sukuk issuers and the underlying risks and mitigation, and make recommendations for new and / or existing fixed income securities
Perform Know-Your-Customer (KYC) checking on bond / sukuk issuers as per policy requirements before putting up investment / credit proposals
Assess investment / credit proposals within varying sectors of the corporate bond market and perform timely review and recommendations of fixed income securities for the purpose of the relevant approving authorities' approval
Assess and prepare ESG risk assessment for new and existing fixed income securities
Attuned to key policies applicable for the purpose of credit assessment on new and / or existing bond / sukuk issuers and ensure compliance to all relevant internal policies and regulatory requirements at all times
Keep abreast of key economic indicators, financial and bond / sukuk market performance and corporate developments to provide fundamental investment opinions and relative value assessment for bond / sukuk issuers
Engage with bond / sukuk issuers, facility agents, trustee and lead arrangers on fixed income investment / credit proposals, corporate exercises and due diligence for new and existing fixed income investments
Proactively identify problematic investments through monitoring of credit quality and timely impairment assessment
Periodic monitoring of issuers' compliance to covenants and news on bond / sukuk issuers to actively manage underlying credit and market risks
Ensure timely monitoring and reporting functions are adhered to, where applicable
Participate in investor presentations, meetings and site visits as and when required and prepare call reports when necessary
Establish and maintain effective professional relationship with various internal and external stakeholders
Perform ad-hoc tasks and assignments and relief duties as assigned from time to time
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
Possess a minimum of 3-4 years direct experience in credit, or relevant experience in banking and financial services
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Interpersonal and communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders
Effective presentation skills
Proactive and able to work independently
