We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee and support our IT infrastructure and operations across Malaysia and Singapore. This role is critical in ensuring the company's essential systems—including POS, hardware, software, and network infrastructure—are running smoothly to support our fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate must have solid hands-on experience in managing retail IT systems, particularly POS, and possess the ability to identify and close operational gaps realistically.
Key Responsibilities :
Retail IT Systems & POS Management
- Manage and support POS systems across all retail stores in Malaysia and Singapore, ensuring stability, uptime, and alignment with operational needs.
- Lead troubleshooting and incident response for store-level IT issues including POS terminals, network disruptions, and hardware / software problems.
- Work closely with retail operations to ensure IT systems are user-friendly and fit-for-purpose in-store.
IT Infrastructure Oversight
Oversee the company's basic IT infrastructure across both countries—network, servers, internet connectivity, printers, CCTV systems, office IT setup, etc.Plan and execute IT infrastructure projects (e.g., network upgrade, server replacement) with a clear scope, cost control, and realistic timelines.Project Execution & Gap Identification
Identify and address critical IT gaps or inefficiencies in day-to-day operations in both Malaysia and Singapore.Work with department heads to understand needs and implement practical IT solutions to improve workflows.Recommend and implement essential tools to support productivity and operational continuity.Vendor & Procurement Management
Source and manage vendors for hardware, software, and outsourced IT services.Ensure cost-effective procurement of essential IT equipment and services.Governance, Security & Support
Ensure data backups, IT security protocols, and basic IT governance are in place.Provide basic IT support to office users and escalate when necessary.Manage asset inventory, software licenses, and renewals.Requirements :
Minimum 5 years of experience in IT management or IT project lead roles, with a strong track record in the retail industry.Proven experience managing POS systems and understanding how store IT integrates with retail operations.Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on, realistic approach to system improvements.Ability to balance cost, functionality, and user needs when recommending tools or solutions.Experience in both Malaysian and Singapore IT market landscapes will be an added advantage.
