The Recreation Manager is responsible for the overall operation and control of the spa and wellbeing activities, including consultations, reservations, treatments, retailing, spa cuisine, fitness exercise programs, and the exercise studio.

What will I be doing?

  • Meet and exceed guests’ expectations through monitoring and making improvements.
  • Develop good relationships with hotel guests and members by creating a diverse range of recreation and Indoor & Outdoor programs.
  • Responsible for the efficiency and profitability of the Sports, Kids Club, and other activities.
  • Identify problems and report to the Director of Wellness & Recreation for improvement and resolution.
  • Interview, train, and evaluate Recreation team members.
  • Encourage and motivate employees to improve work efficiency.
  • Participate and make equipment maintenance plans as well as sign maintenance contracts with equipment suppliers when necessary.
  • Control and manage the consumption of guest supplies, effectively control costs.
  • Take inventory of operating equipment regularly and take appropriate actions.
  • Ensure good behavior of team members at all times in all responsible areas of the hotel and that they act in compliance with Hilton brand standards.
  • Create team schedules to ensure coverage of all activities and events.
  • Work with relevant departments on overall appearance, maintenance, hygiene, and safety issues when necessary.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies and strictly implement Hilton standards.
  • Deal with guests’ complaints promptly and keep incidents to a minimum.
  • Ensure that all items are ordered, stored, and claimed according to set standards, recording all items within the warranty period in the accounts.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and competitors while coming up with new ideas for business improvement.
  • Work closely with the Director of Wellness & Recreation to explore current and future business development strategies.
  • Provide monthly reports to the Director of Wellness & Recreation.
  • Adhere to hotel safety policies, emergency rules, and procedures.
  • Ensure that team members fully understand and follow the contents of the team members’ handbook.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

What are we looking for?

  • 5 years related experience, including 3 years of experience in operations or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant knowledge of Kids Club and Sports activities.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English to meet business needs.
  • Strong knowledge of all outdoor recreation and kids handling activities.
  • Able to train, lead, provide guidance, and develop team members.
  • Able to interact well with guests, employees, and third parties.
  • Possess strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction.
  • Able to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
